Quick Snapshot

A leading eyewear retailer needed a connected way to manage the full customer and order journey, from store operations through factory production. The requirement went beyond billing. Store and factory teams needed walk-ins, eye examinations, prescriptions, family members, product selection, measurements, orders, payments, production, and delivery managed as one connected process, not separate steps.

Technostacks designed and implemented a business-focused ERP that brings store operations and factory workflow into a single operating model. Teams work from one consistent record, and the business gains visibility from the first store interaction through production to final fulfillment.

Project Brief

Eyewear retail runs on connected processes usually handled separately: registration, eye examination, prescription capture, product selection, order configuration, payment, production, and delivery.

The client needed a single ERP built around this actual journey, store counter and factory floor alike, so every team could work from the same operational picture, whatever stage a customer’s order had reached.

Challenges

Customer Records

Customer records were not consistently created or carried forward from the first store visit. Visits, orders, prescriptions, and family information were tracked in a fragmented way, rather than as one connected record.

Examination Process

The eye examination and prescription capture process was not standardized across the store. Prescriptions and measurements were not directly connected to product and order selection.

The Workflow

It struggled to support real-world retail scenarios such as partial payments, order holds, and repeat purchases. There was limited visibility into confirmed orders, processing status, and delivery.

Factory Floor

Production ran on manual tracking. Raw material, dye, and batch records lived outside the order, and stock levels relied on physical counts. There was little live visibility into what was finished versus what was still in process, creating handoff gaps between store and factory teams.

Our Solution

Technostacks designed the solution around the retailer’s actual business workflow rather than around individual software modules, resulting in a connected operating model that covers the complete lifecycle, from the store counter to the factory floor:

Eyewear ERP workflow from customer walk-in and production

Customer 360° Management

The customer becomes the central record around which every store activity is organized. Store teams can capture a new walk-in, identify an existing customer, and continue working from the same profile across visits.

Digital Eye Examination & Prescription Management

A structured examination workflow captures the information store and optometry teams need, and keeps the resulting prescription connected to the customer’s record rather than sitting in a separate paper or system trail.

Product Selection & Order Configuration

The buying process is connected directly to the customer’s information and prescription, letting store staff configure the right product before moving to checkout.

Flexible Cart, Billing & Retail Operations

The solution accommodates how customers actually purchase eyewear,
including changes mid-sale and situations where an order can’t be completed immediately.

Order Processing & Fulfillment Visibility

Once an order is confirmed, the workflow continues beyond the store counter; orders requiring further processing move into operational tracking with everything needed to complete the job.

Factory Floor ERP & Production Automation

A confirmed order moves straight onto the factory floor as a live production job, driven by the same customer record, no re-keying into a separate system. The floor ERP tracks raw material and suppliers against each product, so the factory knows what every SKU consumes and where it came from.

Dye and tint are managed per product and batch, giving colored lenses and frames full recipe and lot traceability. Jobs move through each production stage as batches, and live inventory and work-in-process visibility replace physical stock counts. Packaging runs as a tracked final stage before delivery, closing the loop back to the retail order.

Business Impact

One Customer Record

Customer interactions, visits, family members, examinations, and orders are connected in a single, consistent record instead of scattered across separate steps.

Standardized Store Workflow

Teams follow a structured process from walk-in registration through checkout, reducing variation between staff and store locations.

Better Prescription Continuity

Eye examination and prescription information stays connected to the customer journey, instead of living in a separate system or paper trail.

Faster Order Configuration

Product, lens, prescription, and measurement activities are handled within one flow, removing repeated data entry and handoffs.

Improved Order Visibility

Confirmed orders can be followed through production and delivery, giving the business a clear view of where every order stands.

Reduced Process Fragmentation

Store and factory activities are connected through one common business workflow instead of disconnected handoffs.

Live Factory Visibility

Finished units, work-in-process, and material levels are visible in real time, replacing manual stock counts on the floor.

Material & Batch Traceability

Raw material, dye, and packaging are tracked per product and batch, giving each order clear production lineage.

Conclusion

Technostacks delivered a business-focused ERP that transformed a fragmented eyewear retail operation into one connected workflow, spanning customer registration, eye examination, prescription management, product configuration, billing, and fulfillment. By designing around the retailer’s actual customer journey rather than individual software modules, the solution gave store teams a single, consistent record to work from and gave the business clear visibility from the first walk-in through final delivery.

The result is a scalable operating model that reduces fragmentation between store-level and downstream activities today and is built to extend as the retailer’s operations grow.
